CEO and founder Jason Daniel, a former motocross athlete and 2021 Gold Coast Young Entrepreneur of the Year, launched the brand in 2007 under the name Loose Kid Industries before rebranding to LSKD. The 240-square-meter Pacific Beach space includes a retail floor, an office for the U.S. team, and a community recovery room outfitted with compression boots, massage guns, ice baths, and recovery meals. Opening day in April 2023 drew a line of roughly 500 people, making it the brand's biggest single day of U.S. sales, and the company partnered with San Diego's Goodwill to donate sportswear collected through its tights-and-shorts swap program. Active shoppers who split their time between LSKD and South Coast Surf Shop Pacific Beach can gear up for both gym sessions and ocean outings along the same Garnet corridor. Daniel chose Pacific Beach over Los Angeles because of the neighborhood's fitness culture and alignment with the brand's community-first values. LSKD now operates retail locations across Australia and New Zealand alongside this sole U.S. store, having grown from $1.7 million to $55 million in sales within three years.
