Since 1947, Christ Lutheran Church has served the Pacific Beach neighborhood from its campus at 4761 Cass St in San Diego, CA 92109. A progressive congregation affiliated with the Lutheran tradition, the church welcomes everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, or marital status. Sunday worship begins at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary, and the dress code is strictly come-as-you-are. The campus sits between Chalcedony and Missouri Streets with two free parking lots—one east of the sanctuary and another across Chalcedony. The church shares its Cass Street space with GiGi's Playhouse San Diego, a Down syndrome achievement center that operates out of the same building and uses the parking lot entrance. Christ Lutheran also hosts yoga classes through an on-site studio, adding a wellness dimension to its community programming. Office hours run Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the church is a designated LGBTQ+-friendly and transgender safe space. The congregation partners with Shoreline Community Services and several other local organizations to address homelessness in the Central Beach Area.
