Driscoll Mission Bay is a full-service boat repair yard and marina at 1500 Quivira Way in Pacific Beach, San Diego, 92109, part of the Driscoll family's marine operations that began when brothers Harlan and Gerry Driscoll founded Driscoll Boat Works on Shelter Island in 1947. Gerry Driscoll was an internationally renowned yachting champion who competed in the defense portion of four America's Cup races between 1964 and 1974, was inducted into the San Diego Hall of Champions in 1977, and was named San Diego Yachtsman of the Year in 1966 and 1974. His innovative year-round training regimen for the 1974 Cup permanently changed how teams prepare for the event. The Mission Bay facility, established in 1996 on Quivira Basin, carries forward that legacy under second and third-generation Driscolls. The yard's 100-ton Marine Travelift can haul vessels for bottom jobs, surveys, and full service work, while 228 berthing slips ranging from 25 to 82 feet in length offer power, water, laundry facilities, restrooms with showers, dock boxes, and storage units. Side ties accommodating vessels up to 90 feet provide 30A 110V and 50A 220V electrical hookups for larger boats. The in-house team handles painting, fiberglass, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, welding, and fabrication, and the yard welcomes do-it-yourself owners who prefer to work on their own vessels. The late Joseph Driscoll managed this Mission Bay location for 20 years before his passing in 2018. The Driscoll family also operates Driscoll Boatworks on Shelter Island, Intrepid Boatworks for dry stack storage, and Driscoll's Wharf, Southern California's only privately owned commercial fishing marina. Quivira Way places the yard near the mouth of Mission Bay, minutes from open ocean access. Boaters heading out for the day can fuel up and grab supplies in the Quivira Basin area, while Captain Frost Marine Refrigeration provides specialized onboard cooling system service for vessels moored nearby. The marina's proximity to Mission Bay's recreational waters also makes it convenient to SeaWorld Marina across the basin.
