CPDT-KA credentialed trainer Stephanie Woodle founded The Fairy Dogmother at 4165 Udall St after graduating with distinction from the Victoria Stilwell Dog Training Academy, bringing 21-plus years of handler, walker, and sitter work to private in-home clients across OB and Point Loma. Every engagement begins with a 90-minute initial consultation for goal-setting and a custom plan, then moves into private sessions run in the client's home or neighborhood so the dog works through real-world triggers rather than a rented classroom, with support between sessions available through handlers at Walks to Wags. The practice is strictly force-free — no prong, shock, or choke collars — and leans on modern behavioral science for leash pulling, barking, jumping, separation anxiety, and reactivity. A Day Training option sends Woodle to the home 2 to 5 days per week to work the dog solo, followed by an Owner Transfer Session that teaches the human to maintain progress; clients who need overnight coverage during travel can coordinate with Jen's Pet Sitting of San Diego. Puppy Life Skills is a dedicated program covering socialization, housetraining, and prevention of the behaviors that usually trigger adolescent-dog surrenders. The most complex work is rehabilitation of adult rescue dogs with layered fear, reactivity, and housetraining histories — multi-month progressions with weekly private sessions until the dog can navigate OB's crowded Newport Avenue corridor without triggering.
