Opened in 2020 during COVID by graphic designer Aaron Null, Vervor Shop is an artist-consignment boutique at 4689 Voltaire Street representing over 300 local San Diego makers across handmade art, ceramics, jewelry, clothing, plants, and curios. Null anchors the Voltaire Art & Makers Walk, a monthly neighborhood event that lines the street with crafters and shares the same locals-supporting-locals footprint as the Wednesday Ocean Beach Farmers Market. The consignment model is deliberately low-barrier — Null takes a small percentage so emerging and hobbyist artists without gallery representation can test-sell work without upfront risk. A 2025 fifth-anniversary event partnered with Ocean Beach Elementary School for a portion of proceeds, reinforcing the shop's role as a community hub rather than a retail-only space. The space also houses Vervor Design, Null's graphic-design practice handling branding, logos, and print campaigns, and sits within an emerging north-OB creative corridor alongside independent artists such as Art Up Your Life. Null's stated vision is to convert Voltaire into OB's arts district, and the shop functions as a launchpad for first-time makers who would otherwise have no retail channel.
