Store #T-3303 is an 18,000-square-foot small-format Target that opened July 17, 2019 at 4864 Newport Ave, the chain's third neighborhood-concept store in San Diego County and the first big-box footprint inside OB's Newport Avenue corridor. The compact layout carries a condensed mix of apparel, electronics, cosmetics, groceries, baby gear, and beach supplies, a tourist-and-local product blend that sits two blocks from the sand and a short walk from burger counters like Hodad's Ocean Beach. When the project was first proposed in 2017 it drew pushback from the OB Planning Board over concerns about neighborhood character, and the opened store responded by hiring roughly 50 workers from the community and mounting historical Ocean Beach photography on its street-facing windows. The baby, toy, and kids' apparel aisles draw parents doing weekday runs before stopping into independent picks like Bluebird Play for gifts and children's titles that chain inventory doesn't cover. Drive Up, Order Pickup, and Shipt same-day delivery are all active from store #T-3303, extending the footprint beyond the 18,000-square-foot floor. The most complex operation handled on site is the Clothing Take Back textile-recycling program, which accepts used apparel across brands for diversion from landfill alongside the store's standard electronics, ink cartridge, glass, and plastic bag recycling streams.
