Chartered as a mission parish in 1946 after a postwar canvass of Point Loma’s Episcopal households, All Souls’ built out the mid-century sanctuary that still anchors Catalina Boulevard high on the Point Loma 92107 ridge. The campus serves as the rehearsal-and-performance home for the Bach Collegium San Diego early-music ensemble and for the Point Loma Arts Academy, turning the nave into a working concert hall on weeknights. Sunday liturgy follows the 1979 Book of Common Prayer with nursery care for ages infant through three. Beyond the Catalina Boulevard campus, the parish sponsors the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego’s Showers of Blessings ministry on the fourth Saturday of each month at the diocesan Episcopal Church Center on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, where volunteers from the parish staff the diocesan two-unit mobile shower trailer that serves roughly 32 unsheltered guests per session. The Sacred Ground race-and-faith dialogue series, the Peninsula Shepherd Center senior program, twelve-step recovery meetings, and Godly Play youth formation share the parish-hall calendar through the week. The most logistically complex undertaking is that monthly Showers of Blessings session itself — coordinating volunteer setup of the two-room trailer (each unit with shower, sink, and dressing area), hygiene-kit assembly, fresh-clothing-and-towel distribution, and post-use sanitization across the diocesan site for the roughly 32 guests who arrive each fourth Saturday.
