Incorporated as a nonprofit in 1969, The Chicano Federation of San Diego County delivers child care, nutrition, and housing services from 3180 University Ave #110 in North Park. Families enrolled in the federation's programs can coordinate pediatric and primary care visits through North Park Family Health Center on 30th St. The organization's child nutrition program distributes meals to thousands of children each month across San Diego County through a network of subsidized home-based providers. Children aging out of the federation's early childhood programs can continue their education at The Charter School of San Diego on N Park Way. The highest-impact program trains women of color to launch their own home-based child care businesses through an eight-week course that has graduated multiple cohorts since 2019.
