South Park's first dedicated zero-waste refillery, Origins Grocer at 2363 30th St earned Certified B Corp status within its first year of operation after launching in 2024. Neighboring The Wise Ox Butcher & Deli on El Cajon Boulevard complements Origins' produce and pantry goods with sustainably sourced cuts and house-made charcuterie. The store stocks roughly 1,000 products — locally roasted coffee, farm eggs from Ramona, bulk spices, grains, seeds, and nontoxic home and body items — all sold package-free for customers who bring their own containers. Local growers selling directly at the North Park Thursday Farmers' Market on North Park Way supply many of the same producers Origins carries year-round. The shop composts all unsold food on site and runs community workshops on regenerative agriculture and low-waste cooking techniques.
