About

Fall Brewing Company operates its original tasting room and production brewery at 4542 30th Street in Normal Heights, San Diego — a neighborhood brewery co-founded by head brewer Ray Astamendi and graphic designer Dave Lively in November 2014. Astamendi designed the facility's layout for clean brewer workflow, and the visible brewhouse sits behind the tasting-room bar so every patron watches production in real time. The 92116 taproom anchors a core lineup led by Plenty for All, the house California pilsner, alongside rotating IPAs, barrel-aged imperial stouts, and lagers. The taproom shares 30th Street with independent arts spaces that define the block, including Ashton Gallery at Art on 30th's rotating exhibition program a short walk south. The barrel-aged version of Jinx Remover, an imperial black lager, won gold at the 2016 World Beer Cup in the barrel-aged strong category — one of craft brewing's most competitive international competitions. The 2AM Bike Ride coffee stout is brewed with whole-bean coffee sourced from Dark Horse Coffee Roasters on Adams Avenue, a single-origin integration that produces a mellow coffee character without the bitterness of ground-coffee additions. The outside-food-welcome policy draws takeout from nearby Adams Avenue kitchens, and Parkhouse Eatery's brunch and lunch plates are a common sight on taproom tables during afternoon sessions. Fall expanded into a Miramar production facility at 9550 Distribution Avenue to handle distribution across Southern California and into Imperial County through a partnership with Alford Distributing, while a second taproom — the Golden Rhino Room at 3010 Juniper Street in South Park — extends the brand's neighborhood-bar footprint. Ward Canyon Park is a short walk north at Park Blvd and Madison Avenue, and Balboa Park sits directly south — a straight shot down 30th Street to the park's eastern edge. The tap list typically runs 12 to 16 handles cycling through pilsners, West Coast IPAs, hazy double IPAs, dry Irish stouts, and seasonal barrel-aged releases aged in bourbon barrels sourced from Kentucky distilleries.
