Alpine Community Park provides Alpine's first County-managed public recreation site, spanning 98 acres on South Grade Road adjacent to the Wright's Field Preserve. Phase 1 construction allocated $11.4 million to develop 26 acres for active recreation — playgrounds, sports courts, and multi-use trails — all within a two-minute drive of Alpine Blvd dining at Janet's Montana Cafe. The remaining 72 acres function as open-space preserve, buffering the park from Wright's Field and creating more than 300 total conserved acres of trail-accessible land in central Alpine. Two off-leash dog parks, an equestrian staging area, and community garden plots address amenities that five public-input meetings between 2021 and 2023 identified as underserved in Alpine, complementing the Alpine Blvd commercial corridor anchored by Alpine Tavern and Grill. Solar-carport parking structures will service 240 vehicle stalls, and the trail network connects via the Backcountry Land Trust's Wright's Field Preserve system to adjacent school campuses through a Safe Routes to School alignment.
