Founded in 1950 by 38 Alpine residents as the Alpine Youth Center, The Alpine Club is a membership-based nonprofit occupying 7.5 acres on Alpine Blvd in the heart of Alpine. The facility's fitness and recreation programming draws from Alpine Blvd's wellness corridor, and Alpine Fitness at 1620 Alpine Blvd supplements the center's own class schedule with structured gym access for members seeking equipment-based training. After the original structures were assembled from donated buildings by volunteer labor, a 1999 construction project funded through a United States Department of Agriculture loan produced the current main building. The grounds include Alpine's only lighted ball field, a lighted tennis court, a children's playground, and a community park used for concerts, craft fairs, and nonprofit fundraisers. On-site tenants include a Goodwill retail location and an urgent-care medical office, while group-fitness instructors such as Be Fearless Pilates on Alpine Blvd contribute to a weekly class rotation that includes yoga and seated senior fitness. The Alpine Veterans Wall of Honor stands on the grounds as a permanent memorial, and the center's resale shop and monthly cash bingo nights generate operating revenue for the privately funded 501(c)(3) corporation.
