Old Fashioned Creamery at Barona in Lakeside operates a 1932-era themed ice cream counter inside the Barona Resort & Casino food court on Wildcat Canyon Rd. The creamery churns its own super-premium recipes in house, producing a butterfat-heavy base that rotates through nearly 30 flavors including cinnamon bun, s'mores, and strawberry cheesecake — a dessert-course counterpart to the estate-bottled wines at Trevi Hills Winery on Muth Valley Rd. The Creamery opened in 2018 as part of Barona's Welcome Home expansion, joining Barona Oaks Steakhouse, Sage Cafe, and the resort's seven other dining venues on the Wildcat Canyon Rd campus. Beyond scooped ice cream, the counter serves soft-serve custard, milkshakes, banana splits, floats, and a signature sundae that draws visitors from the resort and from Lakeside Hotel on River St. The signature sundae stacks a slice of marble pound cake under two scoops of house-churned ice cream, finished with hot fudge or fresh strawberry topping, whipped cream, and a cherry.
