The 8250 La Mesa Boulevard location operates within a secondhand-retail ecosystem in La Mesa Village that includes The Consignment Shack, creating a walkable cluster of resale destinations along the boulevard. As a 501(c)(3) with more than 45 donation centers countywide, Goodwill San Diego directs revenue from retail sales into seven Community Employment Centers that provide free career advising, resume workshops, and interview coaching in English and Spanish. The La Mesa Boulevard store's inventory rotates through donated furniture, small appliances, and vintage housewares, complementing the curated women's and men's secondhand apparel at Act II elsewhere in the Village. More than 50 percent of Goodwill San Diego's workforce consists of individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment, and the Job Readiness Certificate Program requires completion of five soft-skill workshops plus four career-advisor sessions.
