Operating from 5120 Baltimore Drive in La Mesa, contACT ARTS is a 501(c)(3) arts nonprofit and purveyor of the San Diego International Fringe Festival that connects progressive performance with social action in La Mesa. The organization holds membership in the World Fringe network, the United States Association of Fringe Festivals, and the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals—affiliations that place La Mesa's performing-arts scene alongside the same global festival circuit that feeds talent to The Lamplighters Community Theatre. ContACT ARTS has partnered with Sweetwater Unified and San Diego Unified school districts on arts-in-education residencies, bringing community-engaged performance projects into K–12 classrooms across the county. The Nations of Dance program spotlights international dance traditions, and the Fringe Festival's open-access model gives emerging artists a juried-free platform—an incubator approach that develops creative talent within the same East County arts ecosystem as Wagner's School of Music. Fringe production logistics require multi-venue scheduling across partner sites, artist travel coordination for touring companies, box-office integration with festival-wide ticketing platforms, and compliance with World Fringe brand standards.
