Rick's Custom Framing has occupied La Mesa Boulevard since 1979, providing museum-grade conservation framing and art restoration across San Diego County. Archival mounting uses acid-free linen hinges, 100-percent cotton rag matboard, and UV-filtering glazing to preserve original oils, watercolors, and works on paper, the same preservation standard that local artists at Studio Carla specify when preparing gallery-bound pieces. The workshop builds hand-carved period frames, French mats, and gold-leaf and silver-leaf profiles in-house, drawing on a woodworking tradition rooted in the founder's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking from San Diego State University.
