Academic research center at 8950 Villa La Jolla Dr, Suite C203, La Jolla, CA 92037, inside La Jolla's largest multi-practice medical complex off the I-5 corridor. Part of UC San Diego Health, CHEAR conducts clinical studies on nutrition, physical activity, weight management, and behavioral interventions for obesity — a research focus rather than a traditional outpatient clinic, though participants in active studies receive clinical assessments on-site. Suite C203 occupies the same building as Strive Compounding Pharmacy (Suite C225) and dozens of private medical practices, embedding the research program within an active care delivery campus. Affiliated with the UCSD School of Medicine's Department of Family Medicine and Public Health. The 8950 Villa La Jolla complex also houses La Jolla Village Family Medical Group (Suite C129), whose primary care providers sometimes refer patients to CHEAR-sponsored weight management and metabolic health trials.
