Underwater fitness and breathwork training program at 800 Nautilus St, La Jolla, CA 92037, operating out of the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex. Founded by two former Special Operations Marine Raiders and Marine Corps Water Survival Instructors, Deep End Fitness runs hybrid pool-based workouts combining water survival techniques, underwater movements, breathwork, and mindset training — and the Nautilus Street facility sits adjacent to La Jolla High School, whose student athletes train in the same aquatic complex. One weekly session focuses on low heart rate skill refinement and controlled breathing; the other is a high-intensity water-based WOD. The program has trained NFL players, Olympic swimmers, pro MMA fighters, and pro surfers, plus military and first responder candidates preparing for special operations selection courses. Coach Shawna leads the La Jolla Tactical Athlete Program and holds a B.S. in Kinesiology and CrossFit L-1 certification. A second San Diego location operates at the Coronado Aquatics Center. Goggles and active swimwear required — and land-based clients seeking one-on-one strength and mobility coaching for adults 40+ book La Jolla Personal Training.
