The official retail arm of the San Diego-Imperial Council of Scouting America sits at 1207 Upas St adjacent to Council headquarters on the Balboa Park edge of Hillcrest, serving more than 6,000 registered youth across the 7,500-square-mile council covering San Diego and Imperial Counties. Class-A uniform components, rank insignia, merit-badge patches, neckerchiefs and slides fill the core inventory alongside Pinewood Derby kits whose hobby-build parallels run to the model-railroading community at Frank the Trainman. Merit-badge pamphlets, Cub Scout and Scouts BSA handbooks, leader field books and Eagle project binders line the reference wall for scouts working through advancement. Camping and outdoor gear covers mess kits, canteens, compasses, knives, firestarters and first-aid supplies geared to troop campouts at Mataguay Scout Ranch, Camp Balboa and Fiesta Island outings. Reading-merit-badge titles, nature-identification field guides and youth biographies on the shelf dovetail with the used-book rotation at Bluestocking Books along the 5th Avenue corridor. Summer-camp outfitting runs full-troop supply orders covering uniforms, handbooks, cooking gear and advancement materials for Pack, Troop, Crew and Ship units heading into Mataguay Scout Ranch for week-long programs.
