Identified as Asian-owned, Indigenous-owned, LGBTQ+-owned, and women-owned, The Experience Fitness & Mobility Studio is the only openly LGBTQ wife-owned gym in Hillcrest, operating from a University Avenue space that houses personal training, small-group classes, and on-site sports massage therapy under one roof. Coaching spans Olympic weightlifting, obstacle-course racing prep, metabolic conditioning, and sport-specific programming, a broader mix than the bodybuilding and strength floor at Hillcrest Fitness. Group classes cap at six to maintain coach-to-athlete ratios and technical oversight during Olympic lifts. The facility is explicitly designated as a transgender safe space, with gender-neutral restrooms and coach training in affirming programming and language. The gym's mobility track extends outside the studio when members want deeper range of motion, funneling into the vinyasa and yin sequences taught at Kai Yoga as a breath-led recovery complement to the in-studio strength programming. The most involved engagements are full competition-prep blocks for clients training for Spartan, Tough Mudder, and sanctioned Olympic weightlifting meets.
