StrongFirst SFG-certified since 2014 with a Russian Kettlebell Certification dating to 2009 and an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer credential, Hillcrest Kettlebells delivers kettlebell-only training from a Mission Hills 92103 base at 325 W Washington St. The curriculum is built around the hardstyle kettlebell canon — swing, goblet squat, clean, press, Turkish get-up, snatch — and the loaded posterior-chain work generates exactly the hip and thoracic demands that lifters manage through spinal care at Dr. Richard Hedrick Chiropractic. New clients complete two mandatory 60-minute private lessons covering deadlift, one- and two-hand swing, goblet squat, clean and press, and lunges before being cleared for the group schedule. In-person training runs outdoors in Mission Hills with kettlebells supplied on-site, and the studio also operates a nine-class-per-week Zoom group schedule for members outside San Diego. The ballistic posterior-chain loading from swings and snatches drives acute forearm, glute, and hamstring soreness, the exact recovery load handled by deep-tissue providers including Mellow Massage. The most advanced track is StrongFirst SFG test preparation — coached programming targeting the five-minute snatch test, strict-press standards, and Turkish get-up technical requirements required to pass the certification weekend.
