A satellite outpatient site of the UC San Diego School of Medicine clinical network, the 4th and Lewis Medical Offices stand at 330 Lewis Street one block south of the main Hillcrest hospital campus. Specialty consults referred from the inpatient floors of Hillcrest Medical Center at UC San Diego Health route here for follow-up visits and pre-procedural clearance. Physicians at this site coordinate ambulatory care across multiple subspecialty practices housed in the building, drawing on the academic medical staff of the UC San Diego School of Medicine. Surgical consults flow downstream to McGrath Outpatient Pavilion at UC San Diego Health, the 250,000-square-foot procedure hub that opened on First Avenue in July 2025. The most complex workflow is multi-disciplinary pre-surgical clearance for trauma and burn patients being prepared for procedures at the academic Level 1 Trauma Center.
