Mental Health

About

Board-certified psychiatrist trained through the UC San Diego Community Psychiatry Residency and Fellowship, Dr. Priti Ojha completed her MD at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2014 and served as Chief Resident of Outpatient Psychiatric Services at UCSD. Her clinical and policy interests center on women's mental health, perinatal psychiatry, and the psychiatric needs of human-trafficking survivors, with peer-reviewed work in Psychiatric Services on the field's public-health response; her safety-net referral network includes the team at Hillcrest Family Health Center. She holds a Laughlin Fellowship from the American College of Psychiatrists and serves as Federal Legislative Representative to the San Diego Psychiatric Society. Her perinatal mood and anxiety caseload is routinely coordinated with OB-GYN and lactation specialists such as Samantha Thomson, MD, FACOG, IBCLC for pregnant and postpartum patients on psychotropic medication. Outside of UCSD she also sees patients through San Ysidro Health, treating culturally and linguistically diverse populations across San Diego County. Her most complex cases are postpartum patients presenting with acute psychosis or severe trauma history requiring coordinated medication management, perinatal psychotherapy, and inpatient bridging.
