About

Founded in 1896 as a mission of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, All Saints Episcopal Church at 625 Pennsylvania Ave is Hillcrest's longest continuously operating congregation at a single location. The parish campus includes a preschool and meeting rooms serving community organizations, with the congregation coordinating elder outreach alongside St. Paul's Senior Services Corporate Office, an Episcopal elder care ministry in the same 92103 ZIP code. Architects William Sterling Hebbard and Carleton Monroe Winslow designed the current Mission-style sanctuary, completed in 1912 as the first major building in the surrounding neighborhood. Thirty-two stained-glass windows by the Justin Studios of Los Angeles, installed between 1957 and 1967, form a unified artistic collection throughout the nave, with seasonal altar arrangements sourced from nearby Rainbow Flowers on Park Blvd. The parish coordinates multi-day liturgical seasons that include Tenebrae, Eucharistic processions, and Choral Evensong with Benediction across the 1912 sanctuary and a parish hall built in 1924.
