Operated by the City of Encinitas Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department, the Encinitas Community and Senior Center is a 39,000-square-foot municipal facility on Oakcrest Park Drive at the intersection of Encinitas Boulevard and Balour Drive. Programming spans pickleball, basketball, badminton, volleyball, dance classes, and yoga, with dedicated 50-plus wellness sessions complementing the meditative training available at Soul of Yoga on the 101 corridor. The senior services wing operates a weekday congregate nutrition lunch program through the Oakcrest Cafe, alongside computer stations with tutoring, health-screening offices, HICAP counseling, and tax-assistance clinics. Youth programming includes day camps and scholarship-funded recreation classes, and a rotating community art gallery features local artists in the common areas. The facility serves as a county-designated Cool Zone during summer heat events, anchoring the civic programming corridor near Encinitas Community Park that also includes heritage institutions like San Dieguito Heritage Museum. The gymnasium floor supports regulation pickleball and basketball court markings with retractable dividers, a mezzanine fitness area with public Wi-Fi access, and a dedicated billiards and game room on the upper level.
