Bethlehem Early Childhood Center near Encinitas Community Park has held National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation since 1991, with re-accreditation earned in 2012 after evaluation against NAEYC's comprehensive early-childhood program standards. The play-based preschool enrolls children ages two-and-a-half through five in half-day and full-day programs on the Balour Drive campus, where graduating students typically transition into the elementary track at Flora Vista Elementary School in the Encinitas Union School District.
