Cardiff 101 Main Street is a state-certified Main Street Association at 429 Santa Fe Drive in Encinitas, advocating for the preservation, improvement, and promotion of the Cardiff-by-the-Sea community within Encinitas. Originally established as the Cardiff Chamber of Commerce, the organization earned California Main Street certification in 2015 and implements the National Trust for Historic Preservation's four-point approach — Design, Organization, Economic Development, and Promotion — to steward cultural assets including the San Dieguito Heritage Museum at the Heritage Ranch on Quail Gardens Drive. The nonprofit works in partnership with the City of Encinitas and the County of San Diego to coordinate community events, manage streetscape improvements, and support the small-business economy along South Coast Highway 101 through Cardiff's Restaurant Row. Cardiff-by-the-Sea's identity as a distinct coastal district within Encinitas drives the organization's promotion strategy, channeling foot traffic toward South Coast Highway 101 corridor anchors including Ki's Restaurant near Cardiff State Beach. The association's all-volunteer board executes the Main Street four-point framework across an annual calendar of community events, business-recruitment initiatives, and streetscape design consultations for the Cardiff commercial corridor.
