Capri Elementary School has served Encinitas's Leucadia community since 1969 as a K-6 campus within the Encinitas Union School District on Capri Road. Half the 613-student enrollment participates in a 90/10 Spanish Dual Language Immersion model — 90 percent Spanish instruction in kindergarten and first grade, scaling to a 50/50 balance by fourth through sixth grades — while outdoor PE and field programming extend to Leucadia Oaks Park in the surrounding neighborhood. STEM, visual arts, music, yoga, physical education, TRAC social-emotional learning, and garden science round out the enrichment block, funded in part by the Capri PTA and Encinitas Educational Foundation. An on-campus garden lab connects to the broader EUSD Farm Lab system, where students cultivate seasonal crops as part of the Next Generation Science Standards life-science strand, and after-school music instruction is available through programs like Leading Note Studios in Encinitas. State assessment data show 67 percent of students scoring at or above proficiency in both English language arts and mathematics on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress.
