Founded in 2019 as an Asian-owned and women-owned skateboard shop, Rose Street Skateshop in Encinitas stocks hard goods, footwear, and apparel from Polar, Nike SB, Converse, Last Resort, and Carpet Co. at 204 North El Camino Real. The shop's curated brand selection reflects Encinitas's crossover between skate culture and visual art, an aesthetic shared with Off Track Gallery on the same North County creative circuit. A $329,000 capital infusion through the San Diego & Imperial Small Business Development Center funded the initial buildout and inventory for the independent retail space. Skateboard deck graphics feature original artwork and limited-edition collaborations with independent illustrators, a creative production model also practiced by the artists at 454 Tattoo and Body Piercing on North Coast Highway 101. The in-store workshop provides complimentary grip-tape application, bearing press-ins, and truck mounting for boards assembled from the shop's component wall.
