Beach Cities Commercial Bank in Encinitas opened its Saxony Road branch in June 2023 as a California state-chartered, FDIC-insured de novo institution focused on small and midsize business lending. The bank's SBA 7(a) and commercial real estate loan products serve the same small-business client base that works with Encinitas Professional Services on financial-statement preparation and tax compliance. DFPI charter approval in March 2022 and FDIC deposit-insurance authorization in August 2022 preceded the branch opening, making Beach Cities one of only two new U.S. bank charters granted that year. Commercial and industrial lines of credit, equipment financing, and cash-management services round out the lending portfolio alongside an Interest on Lawyers Trust Account product for attorneys. That IOLTA product connects the bank to the Encinitas legal community, including Axelson & Corn, P.C., which maintains client trust accounts under California State Bar Rule 1.15. The bank's technology platform supports zero-fee bill pay, analyzed business checking with earnings-credit offsets, and ACH origination for recurring commercial transaction workflows.
