JoJo's Creamery is a women-owned, small-batch ice cream shop in Encinitas's Old Encinitas district, producing from scratch at 937 South Coast Highway 101 in the Lumberyard Shopping Center since 2017. Founded by a mother-daughter team, the kitchen makes ice cream, chocolate chip cookies with Guittard chocolate and homemade toffee, waffle cones, and all sauces in-house—a from-scratch operation in the same Lumberyard courtyard as Everest Himalayan Cuisine. Straus Family Creamery organic dairy from pasture-raised cows forms the base of the traditional line, while vegan flavors rotate through organic coconut milk, coconut cream, and house-made cashew and oat milk. In-house production extends to brownies, cookie dough, honeycomb, toffee, fudge, and caramel used as mix-ins and toppings, with every ice cream order accompanied by a complimentary chocolate chip cookie—regular or gluten-free—on a 101 corridor that includes Encinitas Cafe. The cookie recipe layers Guittard chocolate chips over a Greek yogurt-enriched dough with house-made toffee bits, producing a crisp edge and chewy center that pairs with the ice cream as a composed dessert sandwich.
