About

Board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Donna Mills practices at the Areta Crowell Center on Fourth Avenue in downtown San Diego's Bankers Hill within Community Research Foundation's behavioral health network. She earned her MD from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in 1991 after completing her BS in microbiology at UC San Diego in 1985, and her co-located practice shares clinical infrastructure with integrated medical providers at First Avenue Medical Center in Bankers Hill. Dr. Mills completed both her psychiatry residency and fellowship at UCSD Medical Center between 1992 and 1996, with a transitional-year internship at Los Angeles County-Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. That UCSD training pipeline grounds her psychopharmacological approach in academic research methodology and evidence-based prescribing. Her work within CRF's psychosocial rehabilitation model complements holistic wellness modalities at Saffron & Sage on the Bankers Hill corridor. Advanced treatment protocols involve SSRI-to-SNRI cross-titration algorithms and atypical antipsychotic augmentation strategies for treatment-resistant depression in CRF's community mental health population.
