Mimoza Mediterranean Restaurant

About

Mimoza Mediterranean Restaurant in downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter is a women-owned Mediterranean kitchen run by a mother-daughter team on F Street. The Turkish-inflected menu spans char-grilled lamb shish, Adana kebab, and a whole grilled branzino alongside hot appetizers like butter garlic shrimp and fried calamari, building out a broader protein range than the Italian-leaning Gaslamp menus at Osteria Panevino a few blocks south. Three varieties of hummus, hand-rolled boreks, and stuffed grape leaves anchor the cold-appetizer side, and a signature Mimoza house sauce finishes several plates. The cocktail bar pours alongside a Turkish tea service and a wine list, extending the meal into a full evening format comparable to the multi-course steakhouse pacing at Born and Raised in the same Gaslamp corridor. The Iskender — thinly sliced döner over house-baked pide bread, drenched in tomato butter sauce and served with yogurt — is the most architecturally layered plate on the menu.
