About

Jackie's Jewelry Design in downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter has specialized in heirloom-to-custom redesign from Suite 711 of the Jewelers Exchange since 2019. The studio dismounts inherited stones and resets them into new mountings using proprietary wax carving by designer Alber Rezko, a bespoke fabrication approach that shares the made-to-measure precision of Sante Tailoring in the same neighborhood. Engagement ring consultations start with shape and setting selection, then move to stone sourcing across round brilliant, cushion, oval, and emerald cuts. Loose stones of sentimental value—grandmother's diamonds, inherited sapphires, estate rubies—undergo 10x loupe inspection and inclusion mapping before integration into the new CAD-rendered design. The redesign process produces photorealistic renderings for client approval before casting, a preview step that mirrors the commission workflow at Sparks Gallery on Sixth Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter. Highest-value projects involve multi-generational stone consolidation, combining diamonds and colored gemstones from separate heirloom pieces into a single unified cocktail ring or pendant setting.
