Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown Little Italy in downtown San Diego's Little Italy district reopened in 2025 after a complete renovation of the 23-story tower at 1646 Front Street, now operating as a 334-room full-service Marriott. The renovation doubled the fifth-floor fitness studio, added art deco murals by San Diego artist Hanna Daly to the building's exterior, and installed Orexi — a Mediterranean-California restaurant joining India Street's dining scene alongside kitchens like Civico 1845. A skydeck pool and sunset terrace occupy the fifth floor, and the dedicated parking garage includes Level 2 EV charging stations. The Amici Ballroom and Cardini Boardroom combine for over 10,000 square feet of event space, substantially exceeding the typical Courtyard meeting footprint and connecting via the Embarcadero to The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park for waterfront performances. The two-story Fibonacci suite — accessed by spiral staircase — anchors the property's premium tier for multi-day wedding buyouts and corporate retreats.
