About

Operating under the Bondeno label since 1908, Bespoke Custom Fitted Shoes of San Diego brings sixth-generation Italian shoemaking to downtown San Diego's Columbia district on B Street. The proprietary TRI-CAPTURE™ fitting system uses Bio-Foam® molds engineered by Smithers Bio-Medical Systems in Kent, Ohio, to capture each foot's volume, elasticity indexes, and five girth measurements — a bespoke protocol as precise as the made-to-measure suiting workflow at Art Lewin Bespoke Suits in the same district. Workshop artisans in Florence hand-carve individual wooden lasts from those impressions, then execute over 250 manual operations per pair using French calfskin from Tannery d'Annonay, an 1838-founded operation owned by the Hermès Group. Clients choose among Blake-Stitch, Blake-Rapid, and Goodyear Welt construction, with completed lasts archived at the Italian warehouse for future reorders without re-measurement — a permanent fit record that functions like the garment pattern libraries maintained at bespoke tailoring houses such as Sante Tailoring. The highest-tier commissions involve hand-painted French Box Calf calfskin at 1.4–1.6 mm thickness and Goodyear Welt double-leather sole assemblies with cork-filled footbeds for full-custom equestrian and dress shoe builds.
