About

Coco Maya by Miss B's in downtown San Diego's Little Italy opened in 2022 as a Grind & Prosper Hospitality Group concept, with Executive Chef Ricardo Heredia — a former World Food Championship winner — building the menu around a coal-fired Spanish Josper oven at 1660 India Street. Heredia's Yucatan-Caribbean dishes like cochinita pibil wrapped in banana leaves and cracked tableside in a clay pot share India Street with the handmade pasta program at Monello, though Coco Maya's Josper-smoked proteins pull from a different culinary tradition entirely. A 900-square-foot rooftop deck designed by GTC Design Studio overlooks the Piazza della Famiglia, outfitted with tropical greenery and a Tulum-inspired aesthetic for the brunch-to-cocktails transition. The rum-and-mezcal-heavy cocktail program and weekend brunch menu — featuring Bokit stuffed fry bread from the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe — create a full day-to-night dining arc that sets Coco Maya apart from the Italian-leaning wine lists at Davanti Enoteca Little Italy next door. The 3-pound Tomahawk Suya and whole-table cochinita presentations anchor the large-format sharing menu for groups booking the rooftop for private dinners and multi-course tasting events.
