About

Navy SEAL Museum San Diego in downtown San Diego opened its 10,000-square-foot showcase at 1001 Kettner Boulevard in October 2025, occupying the former Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego space near the Embarcadero waterfront. The veteran-owned venue serves as the second location of the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum, which was established in 1985 at the birthplace of modern-day SEALs in Fort Pierce, Florida, placing it along the same Embarcadero corridor as the USS Midway Museum. Interactive galleries, activated artifacts, and immersive digital media trace the full history of Naval Special Warfare from World War II underwater demolition teams through contemporary operations. A built-in theater screens documentary content, while education programs engage students and community groups with leadership curricula drawn from the SEAL ethos and SWCC Creed, extending the military-heritage programming anchored nearby by The San Diego Veterans Museum. A purpose-built waterfront campus at 1220 Pacific Highway is in active planning to expand the showcase into a full-scale museum facility.
