About

AECOM San Diego in downtown San Diego operates from West A Street as the Southern California anchor for the Fortune 500 infrastructure firm (NYSE: ACM), ranked number one in transportation design by Engineering News-Record. The local office produced the world's first LEED Platinum airport terminal as program manager for the San Diego International Airport Green Build, a public-infrastructure portfolio concentrated in the same civic market where DLR Group runs its Gaslamp Quarter architecture practice. That SAN program encompassed a 494,000-square-foot Terminal 2 West expansion, a consolidated rental-car facility, and a Strategic Energy Plan targeting 80 percent greenhouse-gas reduction and 30 percent energy-cost savings. The San Diego team also engineered the Mission Valley East trolley tunnel and transit station at SDSU and delivered a Navy SPAWAR campus energy-performance contract that cut facility consumption by 37 percent. Construction management on infrastructure-scale builds requires bonding capacity and federal-contract clearance at the level maintained by Harper Construction Co. on heavy civil and government work downtown. The office's current flagship is full program and construction management for the New Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 East modernization at San Diego International Airport.
