Ranglas had arrived in the United States without speaking English and borrowed money from his mother to make the deal, spending five years paying her back. That immigrant-family story still shapes the restaurant today under the leadership of his son, Tom Ranglas Jr., who started working at Poseidon when he was just 15 years old. A major remodel around 2004 transformed the space into the modern seafood restaurant visitors know today, and the senior Ranglas visited twice daily until his passing in 2018. The menu centers on fresh coastal cuisine with dishes like seared sea bass, lobster, calamari appetizers, and the seafood Cobb salad, all designed to let quality ingredients stand on their own.
