Coral Del Mar is a women-owned and Latino-owned New American restaurant and bar at 1247 Camino Del Mar in Del Mar Village (92014), opened in April 2025 by hospitality professionals Amanda Devine and Gio Morelli. The space previously housed Zel's Del Mar, a neighborhood fixture for 15 years, and sits on the same block as Board & Brew - Del Mar, giving this stretch of Camino Del Mar one of the village's strongest clusters of independent dining. The new concept carries forward that community spirit while introducing modern coastal cuisine influenced by Baja California, Hawaii, and Southeast Asia. Signature dishes include sesame seared ahi crispy rice, Spam musubi with spicy guava glaze, macadamia-crusted local halibut, and a Korean steak wrap with mint and cucumber. The menu changes seasonally to keep ingredients fresh and locally sourced. Outdoor diners eat beneath a historic coral tree on a heated, covered patio, while the indoor bar area hosts live music every Wednesday and Sunday evening. Happy hour runs daily from 3:30 to 5:30 PM with discounted bites and drinks, and half-price bottles of wine are offered every Monday and Thursday. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM with bottomless mimosas, and a coffee cart opens at 8:30 AM on Fridays through Sundays. The restaurant is closed Tuesdays. Reservations are accepted, and the lot offers free parking. Dogs are welcome on the patio, and reviewers have noted that the staff occasionally brings out grilled chicken for four-legged guests. Rooftop dining and cocktails are available just up the hill at Sbicca for anyone looking to continue the evening. With its seasonal menu, live music, and dog-friendly patio, Coral has quickly carved out a loyal following in the village.
