Del Mar Community Connections is a volunteer-driven nonprofit at 225 9th St, Del Mar, CA 92014, focused on helping older adults age independently and vibrantly in their own homes. The organization shares the Del Mar Community Building at 225 9th Street with the Del Mar Foundation and the Del Mar Historical Society, a building that includes a conference room, kitchen, and reception space available to local groups by reservation. DMCC's social programming includes the twice-monthly Tuesday Lunch Connection with door-to-door van service, group excursions to cultural events, a memoir writing workshop called Writing Your Story, and an annual flu shot clinic held on the building's patio each fall. More than 60 volunteers and two full-time employees keep these programs running. The nearby Del Mar Powerhouse Community Center serves as another gathering point for community events and activities in the village core.
