Coastal Cantina operates inside the Hilton San Diego/Del Mar at 15575 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar, CA 92014, directly across the street from the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack. The restaurant replaced the hotel's former Coastal Kitchen concept with a Mexican-forward menu overseen by Executive Chef Augie Saucedo. Diners can expect fire-roasted salsas, warm tortillas, craft cocktails built on fresh-squeezed juices and top-shelf tequilas, and a rotating lineup that includes tacos, carnitas, an American Wagyu cheeseburger, and a Del Mar Cobb salad. Breakfast service begins at 6:30 AM with a buffet option most days plus an a la carte menu, making it one of the earlier opening kitchens in the area. The outdoor courtyard features fire pits, lush landscaping, and live music on weekends, creating a Baja-coastal atmosphere that works equally well for a solo dinner or a group celebration. Happy hour runs daily with discounted drinks and bites, and a private dining room is available for events. Track-day crowds heading to Del Mar Fairgrounds often stop in before or after races, taking advantage of the restaurant's proximity to the main gate. Families will find a dedicated kids' menu, high chairs, and changing tables. Hours extend to 11 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. On-site parking and reservations through OpenTable add convenience for visitors who aren't hotel guests, and room service from the cantina's menu is available throughout the property.
