Mofid, MD, FAAD brings Johns Hopkins-trained dermatology to Coronado Island at 1001 B Avenue, Suite 108, serving the 92118 community through Sharp Community Medical Group. Mofid earned her MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1997, completed her internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, then joined the Hopkins faculty as Clinic Director of Dermatology and became the youngest president of The Maryland Dermatologic Society before relocating to San Diego, where she provides dermatologic care to residents of Villa Coronado Skilled Nursing Facility and the broader island community. She volunteers as Medical Director of The American Melanoma Foundation and has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers on cutaneous oncology and skin health. Her clinical scope spans melanoma surveillance, Mohs-referred excision, vasculitis management, acne treatment, and cosmetic procedures, with preventive skin cancer education programming coordinated through Sharp Coronado Hospital Sewall Healthy Living Center. Mofid's highest-acuity services include full-body dermoscopic melanoma screening, complex excision of phytophotodermatitis and solar purpura lesions, and immunomodulatory treatment protocols for refractory vasculitis cases requiring coordination across Sharp Coronado, Sharp Memorial, and Sharp Grossmont Hospitals.
