Owned by pharmacist Arash Kohan, Crown Coast Pharmacy at 928 Orange Avenue, Coronado, CA 92118 is an independent pharmacy bringing personalized care back to the island after the community lost its longtime Rite Aid location. Situated on the same stretch of Orange Avenue as Coronado Eye Care Optometry, the pharmacy anchors a walkable health corridor in the heart of the village. Services include prescription filling, local delivery within Coronado, immunizations for adults and children ages three and up, medication therapy management consultations, and hormonal contraceptive prescribing without an appointment. Custom compounding for pediatric, dermatologic, and veterinary medications is also in development. Kohan and his team — including pharmacy technicians Elsie Molenaar and Ryan Hylton — previously served Coronado patients together for over a decade and reunited to open Crown Coast after a successful community-backed fundraising campaign. The pharmacy fills a critical gap for residents who need neighborhood-level prescription access, particularly older patients and those without easy transportation, through its home delivery service. Crown Coast Pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Patients discharged from Sharp Coronado Hospital can fill prescriptions locally without leaving the island.
