Since 1999, San Diego emergency physician Mark David Meyer, MD, has practiced in the emergency department at Kaiser Permanente Zion Medical Center in Allied Gardens, located at 4647 Zion Ave in the 92120 ZIP. He graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 1994 and holds board certification in emergency medicine. His clinical interest in maternal-child emergency care has led to collaborative work with the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative on protocols for obstetric emergencies presenting in the ER setting. Primary care follow-up after emergency discharge routes through facilities including the Kaiser Permanente Vandever Medical Offices on Vandever Ave, less than a mile south of the Zion campus. Dr. Meyer was part of the R2R/Kaiser Permanente cycling team that won the 2004 Race Across America, a 3,000-mile nonstop endurance event from Oceanside to Atlantic City.
