Built in 2020 at a cost of $1.9 million, Sweetwater Bike Park in Bonita spans 4.2 acres within Sweetwater Summit Regional Park on San Miguel Road as San Diego County's first purpose-built cycling skills park. Four progressive jump lines from beginner to expert share the sculpted-dirt terrain with a kids' pump track, a skills zone featuring wooden wall rides and rock gardens, and two flow trails with banked berms — technical features that riders service and tune at Trek Bicycle South Bay before sessions. Helmets are mandatory on all features, e-bikes are prohibited, and the park closes after rainfall to allow staff and San Diego Mountain Biking Association volunteers to resurface the jump lines using a proven dirt-slurry technique. A perimeter trail connects every feature zone to the entry plaza, and the park's emphasis on progressive skill-building mirrors the belt-advancement structure at Bonita Martial Arts Academy & Fitness Federation down the road on Bonita Road. The expert line's tabletop-to-gap sequence and the advanced flow trail's wooden wall rides test competition-level bike handling for BMX and mountain-bike riders training on groomed dirt.
