As the first completed project within the Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan, Sun Outdoors San Diego Bay occupies 19 acres on E Street within the Port of San Diego's 500-plus-acre redevelopment zone. The $56 million resort sits adjacent to Living Coast Discovery Center on the bayfront, and the Bayshore Bikeway's 24-mile cycling route passes directly along the property's western edge. Built by Swinerton and launched in 2021, the resort includes 197 RV sites with stone-paver fire pits and 1,500-to-2,000-square-foot patios, plus 49 furnished one- and two-bedroom vacation rental cottages. The resort's E Street location puts guests within a 10-minute drive of Third Avenue's cultural corridor, including live theater productions at On Stage Playhouse, while I-5 access from the E Street exit sits less than a block east. Pull-through sites accommodate rigs up to 50 feet with full 30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups, and each pad connects to resort-wide Wi-Fi and a dedicated security patrol covering the full property perimeter.
