About

Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center spans 155 acres adjacent to Lower Otay Reservoir in the Eastlake area of Chula Vista, serving as a designated U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Site since the facility opened in 1995. The campus supports more than 20 summer sports — rowing, archery, beach volleyball, cycling BMX, field hockey, and a full track-and-field complex — and its youth-development arm feeds aspiring athletes into the Otay Ranch training ecosystem, where Aqua-Tots Swim School Otay Ranch handles competitive swim readiness for the next generation. Ownership transferred from the United States Olympic Committee to the City of Chula Vista on January 1, 2017, with Point Loma Trust's Elite Athlete Services division managing operations under the new model. Public access includes guided golf-cart tours of the sport venues, self-guided walking routes through the archery range and track complex, and VIP experience packages for corporate and group events. Athletes in residence follow strength and conditioning protocols that parallel the high-intensity programming at community training centers across eastern Chula Vista, including CrossFit Chula Vista, which draws from the same performance-training culture. Venue infrastructure includes a 400-meter IAAF-certified track, an Olympic-specification archery range with electronic scoring, a 2,000-meter rowing course on Lower Otay Reservoir, FIVB-dimension sand courts for beach volleyball, and a BMX supercross circuit with an eight-meter starting ramp.
