Neisha's Dance & Music Academy in Chula Vista's Eastlake district was founded in 1996 and operates a 10,000-square-foot facility at 870 Jetty Lane housing five dance studios and four music rooms, each with private viewing areas for parents. The academy has trained more than 10,000 students across ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, contemporary, musical theatre, and a full music department covering piano, voice, guitar, violin, ukulele, and cello — a performing-arts pipeline whose community recitals extend to stages at Veterans Park Recreation Center in the surrounding area. Founder Neisha Hernandez also established the Chula Vista Ballet Company, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that produces full-length ballet productions and hosts guest artists from the international ballet circuit. Sprung subfloors with competition-grade surfaces equip the studio for competition-level training that feeds into the Club NDA Dance Teams, and the academy's second location at Historic Liberty Station in Point Loma expands its reach beyond the Eastlake corridor — a scope that parallels the multi-site youth programming at Salt Creek Recreational Center. Hernandez has served as a Commissioner for Arts & Culture for the City of Chula Vista, and the academy integrates leadership training, character development, and community-service requirements into its performing-arts curriculum.
